Barnardo’s Young People Milton Keynes Short Breaks provides out of school community activity schemes for disabled children between the ages of 2 and 25 years. The ranges of disability will include; learning, physical, health, social communication, emotional and behavioral needs.
The ethos of the service is that the children/young people will participate in various, School Holiday Provisions and Youth Groups, and be cared for by a skilled and experienced staff team who are committed in supporting the child/young person to achieve positive social and personal skills through play and social interaction with peers. As part of this ethos we strive to provide a service that enables each individual to feel safe, happy and valued.
The staff and service will work directly to incorporate Barnardo’s Basis and Values; where Barnardo’s derives its inspiration and values from the Christian faith. These values enriched and shared by many people of other faiths and of no religious faith, provide the basis of our work with children and young people, their families and communities.
Our Values are evidenced by:

The respecting the unique worth of every person

Encouraging people to fulfil their potential

Working with hope

Exercising responsible stewardship
