Hi Sue and Tony,
I am emailing to let you know how impressed I was with the playscheme that has been provided for the school summer holidays in August at Stony Stratford.
The children that I have referred and transported are non-verbal and have high sensory needs. The venue was perfect and spacious with lots of areas to set up the many activities provided. Children’s individual needs were each considered and catered for. One child had a specific sensory area created for her.
Each child and parent/carer were greeted at the door and individual needs discussed for the day. At the end of the day each parent/carer received feedback on how the child had been during the day.
I am hoping this provision can be provided next summer and also be increased for all school holidays. For these specific children this provision worked very well.

It gives us a break and XXX a Break, it gives us a chance to recharge our batteries and XXX enjoys outdoor pursuits and enjoys meeting different people, and you as an organisation help disabled and disadvantaged children to do things they might never do in normal day to day life and as a family we trust and respect the organisation staff and its principles of giving XXX an enjoyable dayAnon
At Barnardo’s we’re always looking for ways to improve and grow. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to write them here, and we’ll get back to you.
We’ll post some of our favorite, and most interesting comments here, with your permission.
I would like to express my thanks to the Barnardo’s staff who clearly work very hard in supporting these special needs children. It’s reassuring , that they can be left in very safe hands with such caring knowledgeable and professional staff, who really understand the dynamic mix of all the children ensuring that everyone is ‘included’ in a great dayAnon
Great and essential for both children and parentsAnon
Lauren had a great time. The scheme run before Christmas was well run and Lauren says she liked tunneling and archery. The staff were great and welcoming. Lauren made a new friend there which was a bonus.
